I’m honoured to connect with you. I am of Cree and various European ancestry, born in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Since 2014, I’ve called Kamloops home, feeling deeply connected to the waterways and natural beauty of this land. My love for nature began in childhood when I explored the outdoors and played sports, which instilled in me a passion for the healing power of the land.
I’ve dedicated my career to working with diverse populations across the non-profit, for-profit, and public sectors. In the non-profit field, I supported individuals with diverse abilities, including physical, mental, and developmental challenges such as autism. While mentoring youth in a wilderness therapeutic program, I witnessed the profound impact of connecting with nature during challenging times. These experiences fueled my passion for nature-based therapy, which I’m pursuing through specialized training.
In the for-profit sector, I worked with youth and adults affected by trauma, including those recovering from addictions. These roles strengthened my understanding of human dignity, resilience, and the critical need for safe, compassionate spaces for healing. My work in the public sector allowed me to support families navigating significant transitions, often in the aftermath of violence (sexual, physical, emotional, and mental).
As life unfolded throughout various parts, I embarked on my own healing journey, which has been one of my life’s most challenging and transformative experiences. Through this process, I deeply understood the courage it takes to heal and the importance of being offered a supportive space. These personal experiences also shape my approach to counselling, inspiring me to create environments where growth, clarity, and resilience can flourish.
As a Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (#17013), I hold a diploma in Human Services, a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Thompson Rivers University, and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from UBC Okanagan. I integrate evidence-based therapies like EMDR, CBT, and ACT with holistic perspectives. My lived experience and professional training allow me to bring empathy, authenticity, and understanding to my practice.
The land is not just where my heart resides—it’s also central to my practice. In my downtime, you can find me hiking, biking, snowboarding, or soaking up the sun by the water. I sincerely believe true healing comes when we connect with ourselves, our communities, and the land.
I look forward to walking alongside you, offering a compassionate and supportive space where healing and growth are possible and achievable. Together, we can navigate your journey with care and intention.
